Food Inc & Being Divorced
Ok so I know this movie has been out for a while now, but I've got to do my part to spread good things when I find them.
Food Inc.
is a GREAT movie! If you eat food and live in Western civilization this movie is for you.
It's relevant to your body and what you put in it.
The movie takes you behind the bright fluorescent lights, half off coupons, and neat displays at the supermarket and into the veiled world offactory farming that makes our cheap, convenient food so cheap and convenient.
No this is not another Vegan pig slaughter video (lol Vegan pig slaughter) to try to scare you out of eating steak and pork chops.
It's about factory farming and how the big corporations in charge of our food seem to be a little more concerned with their bottom line and a little less concerned with the quality of the food they're producing.
Factory farming is what happens when you decide that profit is more important than responsibility and respect for your fellow man.
It's what happens when you put money, a shiny new car, and cheaper gas at the station ahead of the suffering death of billions of alive and breathing animals, the starving poverty of hundreds of millions of human beings, and the health and well being of the very people you know and love.
If something makes money it must be right, right? If we can produce things cheaper, faster and at a lower cost to the people buying it...
well what's wrong with that right? Who could we be hurting? Well I'd say Food Inc.
will answer those questions for you and good deal more.
I give Food Inc.
a big two thumbs up and definitely recommend you see it.
And spread the word.
I've been divorced for about 3 years now.
I had to call my ex to talk about taxes today.
I got myself stuck worrying that she might not agree with what I was thinking while I kept trying to catch her on the phone.
Only to realize after to talking to her that it was just a waste of energy to get even a little worried over it.
We get along really good.
A lot better than we used to that's for damn sure.
We get along so well in fact that I've managed to find myself surrounded by a bunch of people that I call my family.
Awesome people who I've shared real time and experiences with.
We've stood next to each other through the most awesome high times and bitter low times.
I hope to look back on many more years of good memories of all of us.
Jack White, in the movie It Might Get Loud says while talking about musicians, "You're supposed to join the family...
" and he's absolutely right.
It's what being a musician is about.
It's what life is about! If you don't have one, find one.
If you can't find one, make one! Our friends and family help make us who we are.
And being divorced doesn't make us any less family.
Not unless we make it that way.
My ex-wife is my family and I will always treat her with respect and love because I know who my people are and I know what's important in my life.
I love my family and I'm grateful that I can share one with so many awesome people.
Have a good night! Tonight this one's from me:
