How to Hot Sync a Palm Tungsten E for Windows
- 1). Turn on your computer and log in. Press the "Eject" button on the CD drive and insert the Palm Desktop CD-ROM. Or download the Palm Desktop software at Kb.palm.com.
- 2). Click "Install" in the pop-up window. If no window appears, navigate to "Computer or "My Computer," click on the CD drive, and click "Setup.exe." Follow the on-screen direction, pressing "Next" and "OK" as necessary. If the software prompts you to restart your computer, do so.
- 3). Turn on your Palm Tungsen E. Plug the HotSync cable into the bottom of the device, then plug the other end into the computer's USB port. When the HotSync window appears on the handheld screen, press the star button. The HotSync process is now active; do not remove the handheld from the cable until it completes.
- 4). Open up the Palm Desktop software on your computer. This may be via a desktop shortcut, inside the "Start>Programs" menu, or in an icon in the status bar.
- 5). Click the "HotSync" menu, then "Setup." If you want the information on the computer to overwrite the information on the handheld, select "PC overwrites handheld." If you want the information on the handheld to overwrite the information on the computer, select "handheld overwrites PC." If you want to save all information and copy both ways during a HotSync, select "Synchronize." Click "OK."
