    • 1). Remove all knobs and other hardware from the cabinet. Remove the doors and drawers and lay them on spread-out newspapers.

    • 2). Buff the entire cabinet, the door and drawer fronts with 120-grit sandpaper. Use quick, short strokes to de-gloss and clean the surface. Wipe away all dust.

    • 3). Cover the cabinet and other parts with glaze stain, using a brush to apply over all surfaces evenly. Start at the top and work your way down.

    • 4). Let the glaze sit on the wood for about 5 minutes. Use a dry rag to rub across the flat part of the surfaces, taking off as much of the glaze as will easily come up (some will stay behind). Don't dig it out of the corners and crevices. Continue until you have the effect you want; the flat areas should be partly free of stain with more stain gathered heavily in the corners.

    • 5). Let the glaze stain set overnight. Spray a light coat of polyurethane gloss over the entire surface. Allow to dry.

    • 6). Re-install the hardware, doors and drawers.
