How to Build the Best Workers in Starcraft 2
Starcraft 2 is currently rocking the gaming world by bringing to the plate a plethora of improvements that were not in its predecessor Starcraft.
Some of the improvements that are seen in Starcraft 2 are advanced scenery allocation, a lot more detailed terrain space ie floating space platforms, extensions and smaller units.
As a new player of Starcraft 2 you will need to learn how to get workers, and how many workers you will need.
Getting very few workers will be a complete disadvantage to you since you will have no maximum resource flow.
On the other hand getting many workers may mean that you have spent up valuable minerals that could be used somewhere else.
To start of, pick any six workers be it protoss, zerg, or terran and put them on minerals at once when you start the game and build another in queue You must have 2 workers in each mineral field in the base.
There are usually eight mineral fields to each resource location which means that you must have at least 16 workers on minerals.
To find out how many mineral workers you have just select all the workers in your minerals.
This should indicate 2 bars of workers.
When you start getting vespene gas, you must have 3 maximum workers mining for each refinery.
Since you are early in the game it is safe to have two until you get in need of more vespene gas to reach higher technical units.
Tips You need to have a good mix.
Make sure that you build workers at the beginning of the game and by doing so ascertain that you are not maxing out your workforce before you get any fighting units.
Ensure that you use all abilities at your disposal to build workers faster at the start of the game.
Use chronoboost for Protoss for making your probes build a lot faster at your nexus.
Use a queen for Zerg immediately you start building your spawning pool so as to spawn sat least 4 extra larvas for every 40 seconds.
