Christian foundations give generously but potential recipients must figure out the guidelines that underpin that giving. Entrepreneurs successfully appeal to Christian foundations by developing worthy projects and presenting them directly. Foundations follow Christian giving principles of giving generously, without a grudging heart, with grace and not to seek approval. They believe Christian giving is not about manipulating recipients, nor is it compulsory. - The United Way began in 1887 when two ministers and a rabbi banded together to generate support for health and welfare agencies in Denver, Colorado. Since then it has expanded across the globe. In 2008, it instituted a 10-year plan to help financially unstable, low-income families achieve economic independence.
The United Way Financial Stability Partnership works with corporate sponsors and banks to provide tools and skills necessary to maximize financial security, build savings and gain assets. Some grants have been giving to individuals to obtain access to bank credit. Most funding assistance is handled through local United Way chapters. - The Nehemiah Corporation began in 1994 with a $5,000 loan from a Baptist Church. It now develops private and public partnerships to fund real estate projects through NCRF holdings, the revenues of which are invested in the fund. The funds supplies other non-profit projects that stimulate job creation and retention in low-income neighborhoods. Other corporation programs include the Nehemiah Community Reinvestment Fund, the Nehemiah Community Foundation and Nfinit Solution which specifically helps the housing industry.
